The following list presents the upcoming events on Digital Ecosystems

  • December 18th-19th 2009. Kick-Off Meeting of the KASSETTS (Knowledge-enabled Access of Central Europe SMEs to Efficient Transnational Transport Solutions) Project

The KASSETTS project aims to develop a stable EU operative ICT network of logistics brokers with the objective of: optimising the transnational physical mobility of goods generated by manufacturing SMEs by creating and fostering the adoption of ICT tools and services (1); and fostering SMEs competitiveness and economic development by enabling SMEs to joinlty participate in the dynamic construction of efficient transnational transport solutions (2).

Enhancing SMEs’ access to ICT services is in line with the Digital Ecosystems and DEN4DEK objectives. Moreover, by means of the KASSETTS Technology (including both the technology result of the SEAMLESS Project and those of the transport brokering system initiative, led by ITL – partner of DEN4DEK), different Digital Ecosystems will be connected and an operative EU network among them will be built.
On the occassion of the Kick-Off meeting of the KASSETTS project, a launching workshop will be organised on the 18th of December in order to capitalise past experiences on ICT and logistic projects, tools and concepts as a baseline for KASSETTS. The DEN4DEK Project will be promoted during the workshop. This will be an important opportunity to divulgate, transfer DEs issues to the invited local stakeholders, institutions, universities and to all the KASSETTS partners

  • January 2009. First Open DEN4DEK Workshop on Digital Ecosystems

The Workshop will be dealing with the technical, social and economic aspects inherent to the deployment of Digital Ecosystems. The workshop will be organised by the DEN4DEK project in Zaragoza, Spain at the premises of the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón.

The event, focusing on eGovernment, eBusiness Ecosystems and eJustice will take place in Prague, the Czech Republic on the occassion of the Czech presidency of the EU. The event is jointly organised by the Forum eGovernment of the OCG-Austrian Computer Society in Vienna (AT), the Vusocina Region (CZ), the Vienna Core Group (EU), the Judicial Academy (CZ) and the Respekt Institute (CZ). The annual Eastern European eGov Days provide a solid platform for exchange of creative ideas and inspiring technology transfer between Western and Eastern European countries. A call for papers is organised as part of the event (deadline for submission of papers December 20th, 2008).

  • April 2009. Second Open DEN4DEK Workshop on Digital Ecosystems

The Workshop will be dealing with the policy and political aspects related to construction of an Interest Group on Digital Ecosystems. Organised by the DEN4DEK project in Barcelona, Spain the Workshop will take place in TECHIDEAS.

  • June 1st-3rd, 2009. 3rd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies (IEEE DEST 2009)

The Conference will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. This year the Conference’s Special theme is ‘Cyber Engineering and Human Space Computing’. A call for papers is open.
