Description
What is the DEKEOL?
The DEKEOL is the Digital Ecosystems Knowledge Exchange Online Tool. It will be DEN4DEK’s knowledge-sharing tool. The objective of the DEKEOL is to become a collaborative tool on Digital Ecosystems among Project Partners but open to other EU projects and regional stakeholders willing to learn more on the Digital Ecosystems Initiative.

The DEKEOL will be composed of 3 main features:
- An Open Knowledge Space (OKS) platform for content sharing.
- A Help Desk (HD) for project partners (open) in order to support regions in planning the deployment of Digital Ecosystems.
- An ‘Information Centre’ on Digital Ecosystems, including information about partners and workshops, discussion forums and DEs latest news.
The DEKEOL will be available next December, 2008.
What is the OKS?
The Open Knowledge Space (OKS) will be one of the main features of the DEKEOL. It is a platform for content sharing, built over Sironta (developed by Techideas under the Digital Business Ecosystems Project). The OKS will become the main vehicle for communication and knowledge exchange among project partners (but also open to others). It will be used to create, manage and make the knowledge available for the DEN4DEK community, other regions interested in the DEs, other EU projects studying the DEs, the Regions for Digital Ecosystems Network (REDEN), etc.

The OKS will be decentralised, multilingual and improved in the tagging in a distributed way.
The OKS will be available for download via the DEKEOL next December, 2008
What is the Virtual Help Desk?
The Help Desk (HD) will be one of the main components of the DEKEOL. It will support regions and regional key stakeholders in planning the deployment of the Digital Ecosystems. The HD is open to project partners and to other entities willing to interact with the DEN4DEK community. The HD will provide assistance related to the socio-economic elements inherent to the Digital Ecosystems.
The HD will be available through the DEKEOL next December, 2008.
